FSX . TOP QUESTIONS. My displays are black. Nothing works.

Q
My displays are black when I load the aircraft. Also, when I load a situation the displays go black again and nothing works on the overhead.

A
First of all check to see if you have activated the product. Nothing will work unless the security has been activated. Second, check to see if you have loaded from a situation or are loading FSX directly into our product. If the answer is yes, you have loaded from a situation or loaded the aircraft directly after starting FSX then read on...

(NOTAM. This information is being repeated at the top of this list since many people are not reading the CHECK LIST item below or for some unknown reason are not able to see it).

ALWAYS LOAD THE DEFAULT AIRCRAFT FIRST.
You cannot load a situation from 'cold' without FIRST loading a DEFAULT aircraft. We would like to make this quite clear since a number of people are emailing us first without reading the support we offer here and on the forums (and the answer is in the manual).

PRE_FLIGHT CHECK

1   START FSX
2   LOAD A DEFAULT FSX AIRCRAFT
3   LOAD the ARIANE BOEING 737 AIRCRAFT OR LOAD A SITUATION THAT IS GROUND-BASED AND NOT IN THE AIR. ONLY LOAD A SITUATION FOLLOWING THE LOADING OF DEFAULT AIRCRAFT.

This should get rid of the 'black displays support issue many people report.

Q
Why do I get black displays? Its a bug, right?

A
The answer is no, it is not a bug. There are too many unfounded assumptions that lead to the word 'bug' being used. (Bugs are something that software companies will tell you are bugs and not the other way round).

The chief issue here is to do with FSX loading its simulation software into memory and loading software into pre-prepped caches. Unless you load this software first then our software cannot see it. (We do not use FSUIPC, this a proprietory program that loads a series of commands and works with the FSX exe. We do this for a number of reasons, chiefly those involving speed of calculation and therefore; FPS and also those involving not having to rely on other programs other than FSX of course) to make sure everything works. That is not to say that FSUIPC is not a great program at all. It is. And FSIPC is required but we are the only developing aircraft company that does not  need FSUIPC to run but what our software does require is the simple process of making sure that FSX has loaded everything before you load anything else.

We also recommend.

1   Load a deafult aircraft (that is one that MS made and supplied with FS). We recommend the DEFAULT Cesna or DEFAULT 737.
2   Load Seattle (this is the scenery area where most of the testing for FS was made.

Being two of the MS FS test bed areas that MS (and that we) always used means that  everything that FSX needs to load to work, WILL be loaded upon loading these areas into memory and into the various caches MS will load in the background while you are running our Boeing 737. The Boeing 737's that work with this feature are all of the current line of Boeing 737 X2 products; including and not limited to the Boeing 737-700, the Boeing 737-800 and the Boeing 737-900 ER.

Again, to repeat the check list below, here are some other considerations with regard to our Boeing 737 X2 Series product line.

Displays are ALL BLACK
Go to the outside views and see if you have gear showing. No displays and no gear means that the product may not been activated. If  it has been activated then check the load default aircraft option above.

Displays are ALL BLUE
If the Ariane menu is working (after restarting FSX) then it means that you have not brought the electrics or the systems online. You will need to study the manual to get started and get the displays working.

Displays are ALL BLACK but systems working OK
This is often down to a product loading error caused in the main by a saved flight (for example, an 'in-flight' situation. Go to the aircraft menu and load the DEFAULT FSX 737 and then go to a runway and load it so that the default FSX 737 is on the ground and at the start of the runway and then restart FSX with this defaut flight as the flight that loads up. On loading then select the Ariane aircraft. it should work. If not then read the support questions below and one of them will solve the issues for you. These have all been tested so we know that one of them will work and will affect you.

Q
Why can I not load a situation in flight and make an approach?

A
This would be a great option but it would require a lot of electrical, hydraulic and other simulation systems as well as other FMS situations to be saved and that would also require a lot of development and coding in addition to the highly advanced and constantly-shifting calculation logic that is constantly calculating changes in the FMS second-by-second. The logic of the current software takes into account a ground-based pre-flight situation and bears in mind the flight from ground A to ground B and all that involves in terms of weight, fuel and weather etc. ( [A] being the departures gate and [B] being the landing and taxi to arrivals gate. It is not easy to develop an 'in the air' situation and expect everything to load as if a pilot were transported to the flight deck where everything was set up. An ARIANE PANEL STATE program is something that development is looking at solving. Eventually.

FSX. Installing to Windows 7 and Vista - IMPORTANT

Q
Problems installing to Windows 7 or Vista.

A
All W7 installations and Vista users can get around all of the potentially different setup type problems, virus checks and program controls installed on a users W7 or Vista installation by following this series of guides and tips. It is best recommended that a few programs be turned off as well as it is highly recommended that ALL these steps are taken to insure that everything is set up correctly.

WARNING. Not following these instructions may leave you without working displays or without a correctly working Boeing 737. PLEASE READ AND APPLY :-

Make sure that you install the Microsoft FSX SP2 update (Microsoft not our SP) or that you have installed the FSX Acceleration Package (this comes from Microsoft too - a package you can buy from your local store).

Before installing any software on Windows 7 or Vista.
The first thing is to make sure you ALWAYS have full administrator rights and by this we mean that you should right click and select install as administrator every time you install a product but don't do that yet.

AS WITH ANY INSTRUCTIONS, READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS THROUGH FIRST. AFTER YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, THEN YOU CAN PROCEED TO DO IT.

1   Turn off UAC completely before you start.
Here are the instructions on this web site to save you spending a day looking for it:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/30/how-to-disable-and-turn-off-uac-in-windows-7/
Before installing any software into W7, go into the tray and open Microsoft Security Essentials and select the Settings tab then on the list to the left select Real-Time Protection and remove the check mark next to Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
Vista Users Google: 'Turning off UAC in Windows Vista' for full instructions.
Also turn off all anti-virus and/or firewall software before installing any Ariane products (or any others) to make sure that they too do not interpret any exe or command as a virus, which it is not. None of our product is harmful, invasive or spy-infested. (We make aircraft, not malware).

ONLY use this method if your Win 7 or Vista issues cannot be solved and the first attempt does not work for you.

1 Install all exe files. If using the Boeing 737-700 X2, please install the Solutions Pack exe FIRST. If using the 737-800, install ALL the BASE PACK exe files. Make sure you install all of the exe files; with the 900ER X2 they come in different exe parts, depending where you purchased. Install ALL of them one by one.

If activating multiple products, activate them one at a time.

2 Start FSX and then LOAD the DEFAULT Microsoft FSX Boeing 737 FIRST, change its views ([S] and then [A]+[A]+[A] etc. and check all is working in FSX FIRST before proceeding to the next step ... then select the green-colored (zinc coated) Ariane Boeing 737 base pack aircraft and proceed to then locate the ADDON menu and drop down the activation menus and proceed to activate the product (with the 737-700 X2 you should be activating the solutions pack exe FIRST with anti virus and firewall off and only installing the main pack after activating and then restarting FSX). The activation program makes an Ariane Product Key Requestor Code Email for you (this is a list of data coming from the programs security which also generates the email to send to us. You cannot use this long code to activate with, you must send it to Ariane to obtain a key from us). Shut down FSX. Send the email to us at arianestudios@aol.com. Wait for the key to come back and then start FSX and paste the key into the white key box by following the instructions in the manual (this involves again loading a default aircraft FIRST to ensure that all of the required FSX parts of the FSX program load up. Dropping down the ADDON menu will then provide the program needed to start the process.
NOTE: If you do not have the INSTALL manual then go to the Ariane folder in FSX and open the folder called MANUALS and open the INSTALL manual PDF from there. After pasting in the key code correctly (you MUST paste all of the email from the start of the part where it says <----ACTIVATION to where it says ACTIVATION END --- >the aircraft will then be activated.

IMPORTANT. You MUST restart FSX for our products to be fully activated!
IMPORTANT. You MUST restart FSX for our products to be fully activated!
IMPORTANT. You MUST restart FSX for our products to be fully activated!

3 If using the 737-700 X2, after activating it, then install the COMPLETE base pack exe (this is the OTHER exe other than the SOLUTIONS PACK exe). This will then install all of the other parts as well as the airlines - there are three of them, do this by following the instructions from point 7 below.
4 Note that depending on your Win 7 or Vista settings that it may revert to a "locked up" state if you do not follow the instructions carefully or check the list of requirements carefully.
5 Close down the PC.
6 Reboot the PC.
7 Check that you have no antivirus running and turn off UAC and your firewall.
8 Right click every exe 'install as administrator'. If it does not allow you to do so then you need to either Google: 'how to log in as an administrator in Windows 7 (or Windows Vista)' or change the settings in windows so you are allowed to install programs as an administrator. If you do not do this important step then the security in Windows may bar you from installing some files and Windows will not tell you it does so or tell you which files it has barred meaning you will have an incomplete program installation. This is the biggest reason why our products and others do not work!
10 Install the Base Pack exe to make sure that all the files have copied over by using your administrator rights to do so.
11 Start FSX and all should be running OK with no need to activate again.

When done, 700 X2 users can take a good look at our pre-flight electronic video guide on one of your download links. We made it so you can watch it through and make any notes. Yes you can pause it or run it at the same time as the installation. If you want more info then the manual is included too in the ARIANE folder of FSX. For good measure.

If the activation has not worked for you then please continue reading. It is highly likely (judging from a number of supports that we have answered over Win 7 and Vista issues that the cause relating to a non-activation or issues related is 3 times out of 10 down to user error).
If you have black displays then you have not done something right. No, our software is not 'bugged' or 'corrupted' as some rumors are quick to claim. Since many thousands of people are using it without issues it means that it DOES work but that something you have done (or not done correctly) is causing an issue and it will mean that you will have to check this list carefully and the instructions above to make sure that every single item is covered.

BASIC CHECKLIST FOR BASIC ISSUES (MOST POPULAR SUPPORT ISSUES)

Displays are ALL BLACK

Go to the outside views and see if you have gear showing. No displays and no gear means that the product has not been activated.

HOW TO TURN ON DISPLAYS AND ENABLE OVERHEAD OPERATION

Operation One.
The displays need to be brought 'online' via the system logics. There is a procedure for turning on the displays that is explained in detail in the Training Manual (this is located in the FSX directory inside the ARIANE/MANUALS folder). The first process is to enable the systems using the APU or Ground Power APU. After doing so the IRS alignment procedure must be carried out before the displays will be enabled (and look like they do in photographs of flying aircraft). Unless the procedure is followed correctly then the displays will not show.

Operation Two.
If there are no displays showing at all, check the checklist above and if that does not solve the problem then continue by going through the following. Make sure that you have the following installed correctly:

1 Microsoft FSX Update SP2
(or FSX Accelerator). Without this our simulation software will not work at all. The software has been designed to work with Microsoft's FSX SP2 only. Having MS FSX SP1 will not enable the product - you MUST have SP2 installed or you will have black screens showing and no displays or gauges functioning. Did you install the update from WITHIN the FSX directory? Did you install the update using Administrator rights? If Windows says you do not have Administrator rights then you must get them or Windows will not allow the installation of VERY important files to be installed.

3 FSX Display Settings
Make sure your settings are set as we recommend in the install manual. Open your copy of FSX and make sure that the slider settings match EXACTLY or, are set HIGHER than our settings as shown. If you do not set them this way then we cannot be held responsible for your panels looking blurred or being of poor quality. We run our simulator as high as 2500 x 1600 resolution to test it and know that the quality is very high even set as low as 1280 x 1024. Importance Level: 10

4 Memory
Make sure that you have enough memory for FSX. The base setting of memory should be 4gb. 2gb may not be enough. Importance Level: 9

5 Drivers
Make sure that you have the latest drivers from Nvidea or ATi Radeon. The latest drivers will give you the best displays and levels. Importance Level: 8

6 DX10
If you experience problems with any loading of our products in FSX, go to the FSX DISPLAY menu and locate tbe PREVIEW DIRECTX 10 setting. Untick the box (turn it off). Some graphics cards are not yet ready to run a preview of FSX DX10. Some drivers cannot run DSX10 in FSX at all.

7 BEFORE STARTING OUR PRODUCT LOAD THE DEFAULT 737 FIRST
If you do not load the default 737  then the basic settings and requirements that make FSX work correctly and accurately will not 'kick in'. MS designed  FSX  to load quickly to the front screen and the aircraft menu but until you load the aircraft (depending which aircraft) then it will not load the options of the aircraft you are flying so always load the default 737, then load our aircraft (or then load a situation you have saved with our aircraft at a gate with weather etc). Advice: You cannot  load a situation another time to get round this. You must ALWAYS load the default every time you start FSX to make sure the settings all load correctly and  set up FSX automatically for 3rd party aircraft to function correctly. If you do not follow this procedure every time then items like the autopilot will not function or may turn off unexpectedly. To be sure, always load the default first. It is a precaution we always take when making the Boeing 737 and one that will always work for you.

If you still have problems with running the product then it could be that you have some software that is interfering with our software (some strange effects have been reported with some high density PC Aviator Scenery products such as the North West Area of the USA for example and where master FSX files have been replaced ith developers own, then it is likely that FSX may crash repeatedly. If this is the case then re-install FSX and check with each developer of the products you wish to load, asking them if they change default FSX files and if they do, do not install their product/.
FYI: Ariane or its developers do not change any default files in FSX whatsoever). Remove the problem software or disable it to see if this improves the situation. If not then locate other software and remove it or disable it.

Further Information
Our software does work extremely well and with little or known problems provided it is set up correctly. We are noticing that more and more 'issues' people are reporting are purely down to user error. Our work is always extensively tested with most hardware and software setups (and was originally tested with leading beta testers including a known MS beta tester) but like any software, something a user may have installed on his/her machine can interfere with the correct running of any product including ours. If this affects you then check what you have installed and either re-install FSX only with the SP2 or Accelerator Product and then install only our product.

Use the process of elimination making sure that FSX works on its own and only then begin adding the list of products.

You do not need to install FSUIPC at this stage - our product does not need it.
You can install FSUIPC later after checking that all is working OK.

If you have problems further after trying to make the product work then write to us letting us know everything you have installed (hardware and software) and send us a complete email. Please do not send emails saying "its not working" without telling us the exact nature of the problem Our staff cannot guess which product you are using and the hardware or software you are using. We will do what we can to see where the problem could be but we need as full a report as possible.

Please do not write to us before checking this list. We have found from email support that 99.999 situations out of every 100 we encounter shows that it is one of these check options that solves the problem completely. Most other questions answers can be found in the manual.

FSX.700 I am having problems installing the new 700 X2.

Q
I use Windows 7. Is it OK with the new 700 X2 and why is it I cannot see the aircraft in the aircraft selections screen when accessed from the FSX menu.

A
Windows 7 64 Bit and 32 Bit work beautifully with all our FSX products. Read the documents that came with the product first (should be on one of your download links). This part is important. You have three to refer to. A really well-produced video and a very comprehensive manual and a txt file. You have a choice therefore. It may look daunting at first but if you work through it the whole idea is to help you understand the process. Once covered, that part is done.

Windows 7 users note. TURN OFF ALL VIRUS PROGRAMS using the anti virus programs OFF switch first then check that windows 7's off switch is OFF. Install the solutions pack. After activating the aircraft using the solutions pack, uninstall the solutions pack and then re-install the BASE PACK master exe. This will solve all Win 7 issues for users that do not know how to disable Win 7's complicated 'default' security that is causing many headaches for Win 7 users who do not know Windows setup. This method gets round it. Make sure that the small check box at the base of the aircraft selection screen is checked or you will not see the aircraft to select them. The rest of the process will then be easy to complete and a key will come back within 48 hours (or longer if busy and during a holiday or weekend period),

FSX.700 I see no displays.

Q
I downloaded the product but I cannot see any displays and I have no wheels or anything.

A
The product requires activation. Please read the manuals that come with the product. There is also a video to watch that explains the whole process with music and easy directions.
Once activated, open the manual in the ARIANE folder of FSX and use [ALT] + [TAB] to switch between the manual window and the FSX simulation while you complete your training.
REAL PILOTS NOTAM. Please follow the training. Some of your methods may be different to the version you have been used to flying. A choice of MCP and gauges is available.

FSX.700 Where is my ORDER ID?

Q
The activation is asking for my Order ID. Where and what is my Order ID?
A
Your Order ID depends on who or where you ordered the product. Ariane Airshop uses a 4 number order reference and this can be seen on your order confirmation. It may begin with a 6 or 7 for the 700 X2 series. All orders are checked so do make sure that you use the right one and make sure that you insert the email and the name you used when you ordered. IP addresses are also stored and conflicts can be refused a key so please make sure to get the process right.
Simmarket order IDs are 6 digit and they may begin with a 5 or 6. The same with Pilot Shop and most other sites.

FSX. No 2d Panel?

Q
When I press A to to circled around the views, the Main View, the Display View, the Flight Attendant View are all good, then the Cockpit View has this big black rectangle in place of the instrument board. Why are the instruments not showing in the Cockpit view?

A
There is no 2d panel. Many people start up FSX assuming that there is a 2d panel and the assumption that there is one and that it can fly at liquid frames WITH a VC loaded in the background is the problem in FSX. Having a 2d panel in addition to a very intense and complex coded VC like ours (over 1700 systems and calls) would break. While it may be considered (or discussed by some) that some 'a.n. other' flight decks have 2d panels AND a VC they do NOT have the complexity of our systems - to see that this is so, check the numbers of polygon intense and 3d details they do NOT have. Many of them have flat, pancake like switches which is not very realistic. However, our VC can be placed in a 2d 'flat panel' view by pressing the VC mode [S] key and then pressing the cycle key [A]. If the view needs adjusting then use the move UP DOWN AND SIDE TO SIDE keys (manual) to move to the correct 'flat' view and then move to the next view [A] and the next until all of the view options are saved (we made all the views on the 800 X2 and onwards available and we set them to panel 2d settings but some users have their own way of flying so set how you wish and then SAVE the situation to the sim and next time you fly, load the SIT first and then go to the airport. That way all of the 2d flat panel like views you set will load on start.

FSX. No Lower Engine Panel?

Q
In cockpit view there is a dark rectangle on the lower display. It is not working. All of the other displays are working. Why is the lower engine not working?

A
The lower ENG panel needs to be turned on by means of the ENG panel master button on the center of the main panel. This button is locted at eight o'clock position opposite the autobrake knob. Pressing it once will turn it on provided that the IRS and electrics are correctly online. The lower engine display can also be assigned to some of the main displays via use of the main display controls above the Capts Primary Inbd and Outbd (Map) displays.
TIP: Please see the 240pp page Flight Training Manual for more information located in the ARIANE folder in your FSX directory.

FSX. Displays are all black.

Q
When I have activated the FSX aircraft, I go to the aircraft to load it and the displays are all black. How do I get them to show the colour displays?

There is a procedure for turning on the displays that is explained in detail in the Training Manual (this is located in the FSX directory inside the ARIANE/MANUALS folder). The first process is to enable the systems using the APU or Ground Power APU. After doing so the IRS alignment procedure must be carried out before the displays will be enabled (and look like they do in photographs of flying aircraft). Unless the procedure is followed corretly the displays will not show.

Importance Level: 10

If you still have problems with running the product then it could be that you have some software that is interfereing with it (some strange effects have been reported with some high density PC Aviator Scenery products such as the North West Area of the USA for example and where master FSX files have been replaced ith developers own, then it is likely that FSX may crash repeatedly. If this is the case then re-install FSX and check with each developer of the produtcts you wish to load, asking them if they change default FSX files and if they do, do not install their product/.
FYI: Ariane or its developers do not change any default files in FSX whatsoever).
Remove the problem software or disable it to see if this improves the situation. If not then locate other software and remove it or disable it.

Further Information
Our software does work extremely well and without problems. It is always extensively tested with most hardware and software setups (and was originally tested with leading beta testers including a known MS beta tester) but like any software, something a user may have installed on his/her machine can interfere with the correct running of any product including ours.

If you have problems further after trying to make the product work then write to us letting us know everything you have installed (hardware and software). We will do what we can to see where the problem could be.

Please do not write to us before checking this list. We have found from email support that 99.999 situations out of every 100 we encounter shows that it is one of these check options that solves the problem completely. Most other questions answers can be found in the manual.

FSX. Why do I have no sounds in my new X2?

Q
I ran and installed the new X2 and I am not getting any sound at all - sometimes I might get a Cessna. Whats wrong? Did the sounds not get installed or included on the release? I installed both the low pass sound and the X2 Installer, I am sure I did.
Are theese aditional sound packs from your product pages for new engine sounds?

ARIANE - BOEING 737 NG 4 STEREO SOUND PACKAGE
ARIANE - SPECIAL EDITION CFM56 DUAL PACK

or are they included in the base pack?

A
The SOUND PACKS we offer are additional and more featured sound products. However, the sound pack included is only one version of a basic package. In your download (these are the links sent to you on your original order you got when you paid for the product) there should be a series of install exe files. One of them is the systems installer and the other one contains the sound sets for both the engines and the cockpit and the new Synchresis Engine (a sound pack that makes all of the switches have each their own sound set, individually. That amounts to over 100+ sounds and settings on X2).

How can you tell if you loaded the sound correctly? Open the Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes folder (or your own location) and open the SOUND folder of the base pack called Boeing_737_800_FSX and notice that the SOUND folder contains all of the sounds. Or Boeing_737_800_FSX_Classic and note that it points to here. If youwa nt to use the sounds in any other aircraft you can simply copy this sound.cfg file to any SOUND folder and it will default to this location and use these sounds).

Whenever you open the sound.cfg file ONLY use notepad or any other editor will corrupt it and see where the path entry it makes is pointing to. Then go back to the AIRCRAFT folder again and check and see if the sound files are there. If not, then you did not install the sound part correctly (go back to your order and check to see if all of the exe files are there or not. Some versions such as those on Simmarket have one file so this error cannot be made so easily but for people with slower downloads that time out often we had to offer the sets in smaller files and multiply the install procedure)

Also scroll down for any further info on sounds and set up.

FSX. Service Packs - Important Questions about updates.

Q
I purchased my Boeing 900 ER X2 (download) from FS Pilotshop on June 25, 2009. Do I need to install SP1 (where is it?) and SP2 (dated October 15, 2008)? Or does my downloaded version already include SP1 and SP2?

A
Considering the SP2 is dated 15 October 2008, you should NOT install this update unless you want things to go badly wrong. All products purchased after that date include both SP1 and SP2 (SP=service Pack) updates.

Q
Is there an 900 ER X2 - Service Pack SP1? It is odd I only see an SP2.

A
This is not odd. Any professional software vendor should incorporate SP1 updating into an SP2 update. We did.

Q
900 ER X2 - Service Pack SP2: Does it include SP1?

A
See above.

Q
Is there a cutoff date after which the downloaded version already includes SP1, SP2?

A
We already answered that in question 1.

FSX. Activation. How does it work and is it easy?

Q
Activation for FSX is difficult - is there an easier way?

A
You are referring to the old version for FS9 (which was also improved). FSX activation is not difficult (and is easier than the MS FSX itself; to activate). The process is designed to be as easy as possible. Four boxes (it is less difficult than FSX registration) designed to get your PC data to us so we can securely register your PC as the one registered to our product.  The fields are:

Your Name (this must be the one you used on the order)
Your Email (this must be the one you used on the order)
Your 4 number ORDER REF is your MERCHANTS CART ID (this is found on your Worldpay receipt or on your order from us when you paid for it).

Is there a manual explaining all this? Yes there is and it contains some very easy to understand pictures with big arrows on them showing you what to do.

FSX. New 2Di Panel Structure

Q
Does the FSX version of these aircarft offer the 2Di panel as shown in the install instructions. The Shift+S key stroke does not open the menu to allow you to select option 3. Is their a different procedure to load the 2Di panel in FSX?
A
There is quite a difference. The quality in the panles in the new version X2 aircraft for FSX is much better and more dynamic than old 2d in FS9. By pressing the [S] key and then pressing the [A] key it is easier to cycle to and through flat panel positions and there are a lot more than the limits set on FSX with a new viewing set we designed for the Boeing 737-800 X2.

FSX. 900 ER X2 Airline Expansion Pack. Trouble downloading and installing.

Q
Could you please help me to install the 900 ER X2 Airline Expansion Pack. I download the files from the email sent to me but I did not find any solution in the forum on how to install the expansion pack so I would like to ask you to give me any instructions.

A
When downloading the files, rename them to DIFFERENT file names like this:

900ER_X2_Airline_Expansion_1.zip
900ER_X2_Airline_Expansion_2.zip    etc.

See the different numbers on the end of the names? You must do this so that none of the files overwrites each other. The reason this happens is that the browser may be commonising downloads or, if using a download manager (which we do not recommend) you may be clicking on buttons without reading instructions. It is possible that by clicking NEXT very fast it is possible to miss an important piece of infomration so take care.

After downloading all of them, note that the download comes with a manual either in the last link or the first, depending which you download first or last.

After downloading, open them all and run each of the exe files in order. You will not need to do any copying or editing of files. The new system we use, uses an alias to assign all of the important files back to the main base pack.

IMPORTANT. You cannot use an X2 livery with an X1 aircraft pack. The names may be different so please, make sure you have purchased the right livery pack for the right product/s and group/s and install it as advised.

FSX. Boeing 737-900 ER X1 Airline Expansion and SP1

Q
X1 Users. SP1. (Can also be used with X2 users experiencing this problem).
The activation worked ok for the base pack but when I change to a livery from the expansion pack nothing works. I uninstalled the plane and re-installed everything without sp1 following the instructions and manual and both the base and the expansion pack worked ok. As soon as I installed SP1 advanced , the expansion liveries did not work again, just the base model.

A
This is because SP1 is not designed for the airline packs. This is what to do to go round this problem:

1 Install X1
2 Install SP1
3 After activating or making sure all is OK with base pack, open explorer, find the BASE PACK - that is the one with the GREEN ZINC LIVERY. Copy the PANEL and MODEL and SOUND folders and copy all of these to EACH and EVERY airline pack REPLACING the old ones.

This should then ensure that the airlines will work.

FSX. How can I start an aircraft from cold and dark?

Q
I was wondering if there is a way that I can start the aircraft from cold and dark? I remember when I bought the 737-900ER X1 it used to start in 'off mode' but when I got the X2 it seems to be on already. I know I can go to another aircraft and switch off and then go back to the 737 but I thought to ask if there is another way.

A
This may depend on what settings FSUIPC sets to override the default. We do not use FSUIPC (our product does not need it). Try this: Start FSX Select the default Cessna. Shut everything down. Now select our aircraft and see if the systems are all shut down. They should be (if not this may be down to FSUIPC or some other product overriding your settings - our aircraft here always load as shut down ready for the incoming Captain (officially known to our real airline pilots as "receiving mode"). If they are shut down then the test has worked. Reload the Cessna and check it is still shut down. Now save the situation as the default and tell FSX to always load the default. Now find a good ramp to site our aircraft on and save another situation. Not as default this time. Now when you next load or run FSX it will load the default Cessna (important base settings in FSX). Select your situation - any of them - and your aircraft will be in a receiving mode state ready to run the entire Boeing Operations as they are in real life (we have a copy of the real Normal Operations Boeing Manual in our Boeing 737-OPS section on the web site. Everything in it is as authentic as the real thing. All you need to do is to obtain one and then run those normal ops and start the aircraft, taxi to the gate to pick up your passengers and then plan your flight ready for the incoming Captain to take over (us engineers, we do all the hard work :o) BTW, there is no such thing as 'cold and dark' in the real world. It is called 'receiving mode'. Cold and Dark was first coined many years ago by a simmer on some forum and it has stuck since but you will not be able to find the phrase in any official pilots reference (not that we have found and we have asked all of our real pilots). Just for info.

FSX. I have problems with SP1

Q
After the install of SP1 there are guages missing and I get sounds on the light switches that do not sound right.

A
You have incorrectly installed SP1. If you have the STD (Standard) pack and try to install the ADV (Advanced) option to it then you will corrupt the installation. This means you will have to re-install your base pack and then install the correct version.

Please see the entries in the DOWNLOAD section and follow the instructions carefully.

FSX. 900 ER X2 Airline Expansion Pack

Q
I have purchased the new airline package for the 900 ER X2 but there does not seem to be any galley or the features do not work like they do on the base pack.

A
One of the criteria was to save space using an alias file feature in the airline pack which refers the model section to the original base pack file. The flexible nature of FSX supports multiple levels in this feature so no go round is necessary. However, if any users have attempted to make any changes or edits to our files, this feature will withdraw. Please make sure that the aircraft used with the X2 BASE PACK are the X2 AIRLINE EXPANSION types and not X1.

FSX. Aft Outlet Port and FMC Guide Ref in Manuals

Q
In the Flight Ref Guide, page 0.01.29, there is a reference to the Aft Outlet Port and Valves. How is the Aft Outlet Port closed? On page 0.01.34 in the same guide, regarding FMC, where on the Ariane web is the FMC Brief available?

A
Main Outflow Valve
This particular square like valve is controlled by the pressurisation system and it cannot be easily regulated or animatged to the system performance in the sim until we have a correctly working PS. FYI, the MOV regulates cabin pressure through the adjusting outflow of the cabin (pax) air. Flight Deck air is pure; we passengers are given a mixture of air which is why you can mostly guarantee feeling ill after long flights. There have been considerable reports on this system until recently when there were complaints of the smell of fumes. This is less likely on the 737 due to the routing of the system. The outflow valve opens outwards until it sticks out almost vertical. It is outlined by a red line.

Pressure (Safety) Relief Valves
Located above and below the main outflow valve there are two valves like little semi-circles extended along the length of the fuselage. They protect the aircraft against an overpressure situation if the master pressurisation control system fails.

On the exterior model at the back, the MOV will open and close on the retraction of the gear.

Where on the Ariane web is the FMC Brief available?
The FMC brief was withdrawn after there were reports of our work being pirated and we do not see the benefit of giving away work for pirates to use. The FMC brief is now being rewritten by a training guide author who is going to prepare a substantial work on using the FMC as well as the rest of the aircraft.

FSX. Tailskid Operation

Q
How do I lower the tail skid through all its different settings.

A
There are only a few variable settings on the tailskid. As you lower the flaps and the flap hinge extenuators locate to their different settings, the tailskid will then lower accordingly, to its correct extension/s and angle/s. Note that if your FSX settings are set to realistic then a tail strike will cause the aircraft to register airframe damage.

FSX. Shift 2 - No FMC

Q
I just installed and activated the 737-900ER for FSX and it looks great! I am having trouble with the FMC though. When I push (shift +2) I can't see the FMC and only see a white outline. When I push shift+2 the display of the FMC in the VC goes blank.

A
Go to your settings and make sure that TRANSPARENCY in the panel settings is set to MAXIMUM NON-transparency. Any setting of transparency will cause problems since the overlay modes cannot support any transparencies in display mode views.

FSX. Galley is missing - no galley at all

Q
I just bought the new X2 version and its amazing; beyond what I ever imagined but I cannot see the galley at all, even after I activated it.

A
Make sure that you have the Advanced X2 Version (X1 does not have a galley or any of the many, many extra features that X2 does) and then make sure that the galley option is not 'hidden'. To do this, drop down the FSX menu and make sure the option to show the galley is chosen.

FSX. Activation. I cannot see the mail to send to you.

Q
When I start FS theres a pop up menu that says ACTIVATION RECUEST and ACTIVATE (the same as 737 X1). Thing is, I can fill in all the data normally but when I hit any of the three buttons (in all cases) the menu deasapears and nothing happens (it doesen't open an Outlook window, nor does it generate a file or save any info to memory).

A
THis may be because you are trying to activate the product in full screen mdoe. Please change to WINDOWS MODE and activate it that way.

FORUM TIP. When going on the forum for an answer to any support question, please make sure that you provide product and full PC details. Do not give any CART IDs or ORDER IDs on the forum.

NOTE: All data is coded / edited using a multiple variable which means that data you see in entries such as 'weight' or tables in the cfg files is not the actual (real) data that the FMC uses. The real figures/data is protected - it is not freely available and is therefore hidden within the code of the FMC to keep its copyright nature protected. Taking the data and using it in other products will therefore not produce accurate results and may harm the flight characteristics of any other product without the variable. Without this variable, data is of no use.

RE-BRIEF ON DUAL CHANNEL APPROACHES - A REFRESHER FOR PROFESSIONALS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to carry out a Dual Channel Approach and to capture the sequence leading up to and including it the CMD requires correct operation with both sets of COMM and VOR related COMMs tuned and the correct procedure for an ILS Dual Channel Approach observed. To activate dual channel mode the G/S has to already have been captured and secured. Once on the G/S (Glideslope) then the dual channel approach
procedure can be activated. If the CMB B (Command Button B on the MCP) is not engaged for an autoland then 'FLARE' will not show in the PFD (Primary Flight Display) or be fully operable. "FLARE" means that both autopilots (APs) have been verified as functioning inside the autoflight system and that the aircraft is officially set up for a CAT III landing. CAT III must be supported in the approach in FSX.
Both CMD buttons have to be armed and have to be engaged for 'FLARE' mode to be seen. "FLARE" mode should only be available during a full CAT III approach with DCA. All other styles of approaches require the PF (pilot flying) to fly the aircraft and to flare it on landing, etc, so no automation will occur during such an approach and therefore no annunciation should be present. Both CMD A and CMD B buttons must be engaged on the MCP therforem, for FLARE to be enabled and to function.

IMPORTANT. In some approaches, a stable CAT III approach is required. That is to say, even though the approach G/S has been captured and both CMD and APP initiated, a dual approach may not be possible until within range of the approach system being used. For more information about DUAL CHANNEL APPROACHES please see the www.arianedesign.com website.

5. KNOWN BUGS, LIMITATIONS, AND WORKAROUNDS
-------------------------------------------
* When using any addon product we highly recommend loading one of the default FSX aircraft first (the default 737 is a good choice). Loading the default aircraft first is a measure used to ensure all of the essential drivers, settings and FSX pre-flight software loads before you use our product (or any other for that matter). If you prefer using a flight situation then make the situation after loading the default aircraft first (737 is good), then save the situation. If you start FSX and go straight into a situation without loading the default aircraft, any pre-set state that FSX saved prior to exit will be mirrored in the situation and this could mean that the battery, electrical or other systems set not to come on from the last session, could cause AP / AT 'blowouts' and/or other buttons, systems or switches might turn off. Loading the default aircraft will load the right conditions and then the situation can be loaded or FSX set up for flights, views etc.

TIP: ALWAYS LOAD A DEFAULT FSX AIRCRAFT FIRST TO REMOVE ANY ERRORS FROM OCCURRING.

* When loading the VC in full screen there may be a tendency for FSX to look blurred. This is NOT our software. We suggest many times that users do not run our product in full screen but if users is to run it in this mode then we cannot be held responsible for visual degradation. We build the product to run in windowed modes which produces more clarity and better graphics and we cannot control full screen preferences set by a user.

* There are known issues when using our software with some third party addons. If unsure about the addon/s please ask on the forum after logging in.

IMPORTANT NOTE for A2A (former Shockwave prod.) 3d Lights / Product Users

While this is a very pretty effect and many people have decided to install the effect we have to announce some important points. The MS FSX graphics engine has a limited number of lighting FX displayed, per model at the same time; the FSX version's limit is max, 8 light FX per model (this is an SDK guide but it can be broken but if you break it then you may affect FSX performance or worse, CDT). The SDK is there to be followed and taken as good advice. The Ariane 900er X Version product follows the SDK and uses all 8 light FX to simulate the VC ambient night lighting.

Adding any more light FX, thus exceeding the limit, as is the case with A2A 3D lights will cause a loss of the VC ambient night lighting and other issues when the landing lights are turned on. Also, note that using the 3D light FXs may affect overall performances and visual appearances of the Ariane product.

For this and other reasons we do not recommended the use of this product with the Ariane Boeing 737- 900ER X and/or the Ariane Boeing 737-800 X2 Versions.

What are the new email addresses?

Q
I need to make contact with support. How can I do that?

A
As of August 2008 there are a number of new server-based email addresses that you should use to contact support or admin or technical areas, depending on your requirement. The arianestudios@aol.com is being phased out and although it will still be used for admin, it will not be open to customers after a certain date 9to be announced).

Please come back to this thread or seee our front page for announcements as the mails are set up.

For activations please DO NOT send key requests to the new activation@arianedesign.com email service yet - the server is being moved. If using activation for a second time or more, please make sure you have purchased a re-activation ticket and that the ticket number (four numbers) is clearly displayed at the top of the email or placed in the header subject area. Note that loyal users who have purchased three BASE products or more may not need to buy a ticket for re-activation. The number of requests allowed for loyal users varies depending on user loyalty rating (number and value of products) and their contact or relationship with the company. This item can be discussed on the forum.

BBJ Problem with Vista

Q
I have purchased the BBJ and when it installs there is a problem with the activation. I cannot see the red box or enter any user data to send the activation key.

A
There is a service pack in the DOWNLOAD section that will install and correct this problem. The problem is to do with the security in Vista and not with the BBJ product.

Where is the forum?

Q
I want to go on the forum. What is the URL?

A
The forum URL is published on every customers order confirmation and sent to them the fisrt time they become a customer. The link appears on the bottom of the key activation email.
THE FORUM IS ONLY OPEN TO CUSTOMERS. ANYONE FOUND POSTING ON THE FORUM WHO IS NOT A CUSTOMER MAY BE BANNED AND EXCLUDED FROM KEY ISSUE.

A link on the web site is broken or I cannot download something.

The web site is possibly under construction in some areas so this should be allowed for. However, to make sure you are able to access a page that is live and working, please drop us an email, with the details about the problem, by clicking on the about us link at the base of this page. Make sure you provide your full details (your ORDER ID if you have one so we can identify you as a customer) and we will answer you as soon as we can. Please allow up to 48 hours for a replies during busy times. We can get busy with 250-500 emails a week.

Is there an up to date FAQ document I can download?

Q
Where can I download every FAQ and quesion asked on the old site and also asked with support in general.

A
This document is available for download from the new support page which can be accessed via the link above. The new FAQ document is over 70 pages and was udpated in October 2007 and also includes most common questions and new technical questions as well as information surrounding more techncial aspects of our aircraft with tips from our forum staff and visitors. It is a document worth reading and will be referred to by support as an aide memoir for everyone.

I want to receive any news as soon as possible. How can I do that?

Please click on the about us link below and send us an email asking to be added to our mailing list and we will make sure you receive the latest news when it becomes available. If you do not hear from us then please make a point of visiting our news pages which will be updated at the same time.

Why is there such a difference in price between the box version and the download version?

The download version comes with a base pack aircraft in roll out BCA colours, a basic sound set is included and also most manuals required, in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
The box version features a range of Boeing 737 carriers relevant to that title, a CFM 567b engine fitment program relevant to each carrier featured and a large range of printed items not inlcuded in the download (they are printed, they cannot be downloaded) as well as manuals and guides. The full specification is available on respective Boeing 737 pages - please click on the product groups on the left for more information.

What do I do after activating the red box section?

Q
I activated the red box Dynamic Systems part - how do I now activate the FMC and what do I do next?

A
This is covered well in the INSTALL pdf. After activating the red box section, the FMC Systems automatically come online. If not then you are not activated correctly and need to read the instructions in the INSTALL manual carefully. After activating is successful (see the INSTALL guide which shows you a picture of what a successful installation looks like) you will note that the FMC is working.
The next stage is to bring the power to the systems online. This is not like many 'simtoys' which turn on a lot of systems. Our product requires you do a lot more.
Read the QUICK START guide and learn how to set the systems for flight.
After a short flight to learn how to set systems read the TUTORIAL for a compelte fligth to take you through the entire FMS and FMC operation.

FS9. I am confused about activation - can you give me any advice?

The activation process is really quite simple. All it does is ask for your name and order ID (so we can check that you did regsiter the product so you can get updates), your email (so we can send you back your key) and a password (that only you know so you can tell us if someone else is using the software you paid a license for.

Advice for Win XP Users (Win Vista Users please visit our forum or see the Vista FAQ in this section).

Offline Activation
These are general help comments that require you to have read the manuals carefully and methodically, and have carried out the instructions exactly as written. First, quit FS2004... (if it is already running shut it down) - its a common problem where people leave it running all the time and expect software to install while it is running. It cannot. This Quick Check List will help you get up and running quickly so if you don't want to read the notes again, you can run thru the check list.  Note to 'bluffers' - if you don't like manuals you can forget about being a pilot. Pilots need to read and study. Its a pre-requisite with any aircraft - real or simulated!

Quick Check List
1   FS2004 OFF
2   Firewall setting to LOW
3   Virus Check OFF
4   Firewall Program OFF
5   Firewall on Router (inbuilt) to OFF
6   Start FS2004
7   Select product
8   When product loads PRESS PAUSE [P]
9   Select OFFLINE ACTIVATION METHOD
10  Enter Data: First Name & Last Name, ORDER ID, Password, e-mail
11   Press NEXT or END or FINALISE (depends on your version).

With FMC activation the message ACTIVATION OK! will appear on the FMC display.
With the so-called RED BOX activation (because a red box appears on the screen when you first load an unregistered version of the aircraft) the box will simply disappear. If the red box did not appear or the FMC not show at all then your firewall may not be allowing our product to write through the FS9.exe. To change this, make sure that the program called FS9.exe is on the ALLOW PROGRAMS list (please ask Microsoft Support if you do not know how to do this - the commmand will depend on what version of Windows you run and is not able to be covered here as a GENERAL ADVICE item). Re-run the QUICK CHECK LIST above.  In both cases you will now be ready to fly BUT... BEFORE YOU FLY - DO THIS...

Shut down FS2004.
Reset your firewall to MEDIUM or HIGH
Turn on your Anti-Virus (best to do this after flying FS2004 - we advise that it is better not to run ANY programs while flying FS to get better frame rates. It is up to you.
Go to the ARIANE folder which is located in the root FS2004 folder and copy all of the files in this folder (do not copy the yellow folders; only the small files). THe files you need to copy have the word ARIANE or KEYUPDATE in them. Save these files to a CD or put them on a floppy disk or on a small 'Diskgo' unit that stores data. DO NOT LOSE THESE FILES - THEY CONTAIN YOUR KEY - IF YOU LOSE THEM YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR NEW ONES - THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO OBTAIN THEM.

Further Reading - Firewalls
Prior to any activation, it is best to check and reconfigure (if necessary) your firewall status. For users of WinXP or Win XP with the latest update (SP2) the firewall section of IE changes a number of secure areas that protect your computer from intrusion or breaches of security whilst online. (You will need to reset it to its previous values so we suggest you make notes on what you have changed so you can change it back again once you have finished this process. Select TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY then select Custom Level button and select Rest button to reset all to LOW. Press OK. Also check that the Reset DEFAULT button is set to LOW and then press APPLY and press OK. Your settings are now set to allow wrtiting the key to your hard drive.

How does this activation process work?
Our program does not put your PC at risk. However, Win XP's settings may have been set by you to HIGH or in some cases working with other firewall softare set to HIGH or MEDIUM. Certain setting/s to block or exlcude programs from running may stop us wanting to write to our own files to activate the software you wish to use. The activation part of the program simply needs to be configured to allow the program to have access to its own software.

So how do I get activated?
There are two types of levels for configuration. One is ONLINE ACTIVATION and the other is OFFLINE ACTIVATION. Users who activate ONLINE cannot then request an OFFLINE ACTIVATION code and vice versa. We only allow single activations.

Online Activation
Online activation is not available. Too many attempts to hack it caused this service to be withdrawn permanently.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ALWAYS PAUSE FS2004 WHEN RUNNING THE ACTIVATION PROGRAM - THIS WILL STOP ANY OTHER SOFTWARE FROM RUNNING AND INTERFERING WITH THE PROCESS.

Offline Activation
Offline activation simply requires you to enter the same information you would enter by following the ONLINE ACTIVATION instructions but then, at the end of the process, you must press the OFFLINE button or BAR marked OFFLINE and either press END or NEXT and the process should either save the data to a log file or send a mail.

How do I find the log file to send it to you if I cannot get my email service to work to do that?
You can locate it in the ARIANE folder. Look for a txt file.

What if the PC I am installing to is not online?
Follow the instructions above. Save the file to a log file and send that to us or get our PC to send an e-mail (make sure OUTLOOK EXPRESS or IE6 is installed or it will not work.
When the e-mail appears, copy the WHOLE contents, send those contents to us using the PC you used to get online and we will send an activation code to that PC.
When you receive the activation code by return e-mail, you must paste ALL of the contents of the e-mail (the writing in the message section that starts with the word "Dear" right to the end of the message.

If you are activating the FMC
COPY and PASTE the entire message text to the white box that appears after presing OFFLINE ACTIVATION.

If you are activating the Dynamic Systems (red box)
Press R and then COPY and PASTE the entire message text to the white box that appears after pressing OFFLINE ACTIVATION. After activating the pushback expansion you MUST SHUT DOWN FS2004 and double click the file in the ARIANE folder called keyupdate_pushback_expansion.exe to update your files to run it with the aircraft you installed the expansion pack for. TO do this (as explained in the manual) you must use EXPLORER to locate the ARIANE folder and double click the above file. A box will appear with a message telling you that you have successfully updated the files. If you ignore this instruction you may have problems with use of the software so we do advise you follow the instructions carefully. After this process you can restart FS2004.

It didn't work
You did not follow the instructions regarding your security settings. You must follow the instructions correctly. If you are unsure, make sure you are not online and try setting the level of security to LOW. Then reset it after activation.

What if I want to run it on more than one PC?
The activation code only works on ONE PC for that one period in time. You can only run our program on ONE PC. if more than one OFFLINE or ONLINE request is made, we will simply return it with a ACTIVATION DENIED message. Such multiple requests are very closely monitored for PC details, user details and date of these requests. Multiple access using such details again and again will only draw attention to people wanting to abuse the system and measures will be taken to deny users access for ever. You can only activate ONCE. After activation, your order is disabled

With the greatest of respect, please understand that your access to our server does not mean it is your order that is stored there for your use. We are not a 'filing system' that keeps orders; the order on our server is our record of your purchase and download but it is not an order that you have any rights to.

Wha do I paste into the activation box?
Please paste ALL of the text from the mail message that is sent to you. DO NOT COPY THE TWO LINES (known as a string) - we need to have the complete mail. It contains all of the details about who you are and what you ordered. Do not leave any spaces after or before the text. Paste the WHOLE and ENTIRE e-mail (not only the 'string') but the whole e-mail from the word DEAR to the end of the message.

Sorry. This product has already been activated. Activation is denied.
This e-mail message may be sent to you if you hgave already registered online and are attempting an offline registration.

GUIDANCE NOTES

Name Order ID Password
Make sure there are no spaces before or after each entry. Make sure you are online and no firewall is running (some routers have a 'built in' firewall that interferes with the registration/activation processing - you will have to find out how to disable this or use a simple 56k modem connection only for activation). Start FS2004. Locate the Boeing 737- Ng VCe from FS2004' aircraft menu. Access the cockpit by pressing the [S] key once until it says VIRTUAL COCKPIT at the top right of your screen and pull up the FMC window by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key and pressing [2]. Press CLR to delete the entry FMC NOT ACTIVATED in the scratchpad. Press ONLINE activation. Make sure that you copy and paste each part of your ORDER information to the ONLINE activation section where it request you to do so. Make sure by double checking that there are no spaces before or after each entry. Entries must be CLEAN and contain no spaces or other matter. After entering the data, press ACTIVATE.

The activation process is no more complicated than the Microsoft Phone Service. It requires you to enter 4 parts of information and then auto-generates a mail to send to us. We then send a key back to you. The whole process can have you flying within the hour.

I cannot see the A or R key to activate the product

There are a number of reasons for this. THe main one is if you are using Windows Vista. Vista has a new security system and you need to have adequate 'access rights' and to know what you are doing. Make sure you are logged in as ADMINISTRATOR first and then make sure that you are in WINDOWED MODE (if yuo do not know, ask MS support or press F1). After logging in, start FS again. The boxes should be there.

I cannot see a red box to activate

First, make sure you are logged in as the ADMINISTRATOR (especially to Windows Vista). Second, open the FMC by pressing SHIFT 2 and follow the instructions in the INSTALL pdf file. If the FMC does not show any text or if it is off-centered then make sure that your desktop is resized to a lower setting, that you are not running multiple monitors and that your zoom factor is at least 1.0 (see top right of screen for zoom factor). NOTE: Activating the product via the FMC will activate both the dynamic and systems features both at the same time. The red box stage will not be required if using the FMC to activate.

I did not backup my product, how can I download it again?

The new system allows you to download using your original receipt a limited number of times. If this number is abused then your order access will be shut down. Anyone abusing the scheme (P2P or piracy) will have their license reviewed.
Old server orders dting back pre June 2007 cannot be accessed. Please provide Order ID or email or name proof and use the CD service in the ADMIN section.

Can I download old orders again?

We would like to assure all current customers that their 'old' orders have been retained and moved to the new site and will be integrated into the new commerce database with regard to ORDER ID and PASSWORD status over time. All orders in this instance will be honoured for new activation (and within reason after processing customers IP address and PC details as per our 'one product-one pc' policy and governing terms of use).

It is not possible to allow users to access or download old orders or software or parts. Although it was never a policy of the company (or would it be fair) to act as a backup for lost or deleted files, we did accomodate a number of requests to open up orders to allow downloads again on a number of occasions, some without charge but that is not possible here due to the server changes.

We regret that we can no longer do so due to the old server no longer existing and being geographically displaced. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but it would be physically impossible to implement and costly to maintain due to the two systems being opposed to each others processes. If a person does however require access to a particular file or set of files please use the CD Order process on the ADMIN page and send an email to sales@arianedesign.com quoting the order ID and displaying clearly the address that you wish the CD to go to. Please include your original NAME and EMAIL and if possible the original ORDER ID and your files will be tracked and burned to a CD and sent to you. Please purchase ONE ticket per ORIGNAL ORDER please.

What is the difference between an update or an upgrade?

Update
In computing, <an update or> a patch is a small piece of software designed to update or fix problems with a computer program. This includes fixing bugs, replacing graphics and improving the usability or performance.

We may make periodic updates or 'service packs' to correct or to adjsut current software that we consider not to be working correctly or adequately.

Upgrade
The term upgrade is most often used in computing, generally meaning a replacement of hardware or software with a newer one, in order to bring the system up to date. The word is also often used by audiophiles to describe the replacement of a product with a better quality product with the aim of bringing enhancements to sound quality.

A software upgrade can be major or minor and the release version is increased accordingly. A major upgrade will change the version number, whereas the minor will usually follow with a ".01", ".02", ".03", etc. For example, version 10.03 means that that is the third minor upgrade of version 10. The minor upgrades (or updates) are generally free, but the major versions have to be bought.

An "upgrade" is when you replace a product with a newer version of that same product. When you make an upgrade of the same product from one company to the other, you are making a "competitive upgrade".

We may only make updates at our discretion. Should a product not have a feature, such as a feature that a user considers to be 'missing' on the FMC it does not automatically entitle any user to a 'free update or free upgrade'. Further development means time and is costly and as with all OS upgrades' there may be a charge or we will simply release a new version of the product as Microsoft or any other paying company would do.

Our thanks to Wikipedia for this explanation.

Can I use old versions with V3?

The simple answer to this is 'no' because the process requires a long work round and can be subject to problems. Please, buy the latest version and enjoy all the benefits of the new technology that we developed and designed in the new versions V3 and V3.5 and help to continue to support our work as we build new and more advanced aircraft.

Advanced Users Only
1   V3 Aircraft and updating them from old versions.
2   Using new and older versions in FSX.
3   Upgrading Version 2 to Version 3 manually.

General Note of Caution - Power Users Only
You MUST NOT attempt to upgrade any version 1 aircraft to Version 2 or version 3. Doing so may render your systems inactive, render certain panels to not show and also PLACE YOUR SECURITY BACK TO PRE-ACTIVATE STATE. (Anyone who ignores this warning and goes ahead 'for the hell of it' and attempts to play around with their installations will NOT be re-activated).

Before you Begin
You will need the emails with your key codes in them. If you cannot locate them you MUST locate the following files.

ariane.737ng.key.600.ini
ariane.737ng.key.700.ini
ariane.737ng.key.800.ini
ariane.737ng.key.900.ini
ariane.737ng.key.BBJ.ini
ariane.737ng.key.900ER.ini

POLITE WARNING - No you CANNOT obtain 'freebie' copies of our software and use someone elses keys. It will mess up your install and your activation and we will not support a re-install.

Step One
Did you ensure that all of the aircraft were installed in their CORRECT order? Each aircraft exe has a date. Make sure that the date of each of the files is installed in its DATE ORDER.

For example - the 600 Ng V2 is dated 11th January 2006.
The new V2 900 is dated July 2006. It makes sense to install the older 600 FIRST and then install the 900 NEXT and so on. One easy way to do this is to open Windows Explorer and place all of your exe files in one EMPTY folder (Tip for first time users - make one if you do not have one to hand by right mouse clicking an empy space on the Explorer background and choosing NEW and selecting FOLDER and then name it ARIANE EXE DATE ORDER. After copying all of your exe files to this folder press the DATE MODIFIED panel in Explorer (Tip for first time users - if you don't have one of these, right mouse click the bar on the top right where you look at your files marked NAME and SIZE and TYPE etc and make sure that DATE MODIFIED has a tick or check by it).

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK! ERRORS AT THIS STAGE ARE CRIED ABOUT LATER!

Step Two
Begin installing the first exe file on the list as follows, omitting any in this list that you do not have (if you wish, you can go to the Ariane web site and buy the ones that you want to upgrade to V3 by buying the V2 versions).

Boeing_737_BBJ_N737BZ_Demonstrator
Boeing_737_700 Base Pack Dreamliner Scheme
Boeing_737_600 Base Pack Dreamliner Scheme
Boeing_737_900 Base Pack Dreamliner Scheme

Step Three
Before continueing to install the 800 or newer 900 ER, please locate the file called Ariane.Navdata.dll in the root folder of FS2004/FS9. (Tip for First time users - this is located in the default location c:\program files\microwsoft games\flight simulator 9.0 or wherever you suggested you wanted FS2004 installed when you first installed it - ie: where it is located today). Please move the following file to a safe place. You will not need it since you are about to update your NavDATA database to V2 and V3 data.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK! ERRORS AT THIS STAGE ARE CRIED ABOUT LATER!

All done? Now we can move on to the last part of the installation. If you purchased any of the following aircraft, please install them now to the following location:

Boeing_737_800 Base Pack Dreamliner Scheme.
(V2.5 is the newer pack folliwng version 2 packs)

Boeing_737_900 ER Base Pack Dreamliner
(This features the newer Version 3 aircraft with updated version 2.5 and version 3 gauges and files and performance).

After installing all of the aircraft open Explorer. Using notepad. open up the newest folder of the newest aircraft you have.

(FIRST TIME USER TIP: This is located in:
c:\program files\microwsoft games\flight simulator 9.0\AIRCRAFT

If the newest aircraft you have is the new 800 Ng open its PANEL folder.
If the newest aircraft you have is the new 900 ER open its PANEL folder.

Important. Do not think that the easy route is to COPY the panel.cfg and EFIS PANEL panel.cfg files. You will encounter many errors and your FS aircraft may all cease to function and your activations will be regarded as being breached and you will have to start all over. We cannot grant re-activations to users who edit or reconstruct or 'swap out' our files without instructions or authority for security reasons. Please understand that this is why we are warning you in advance.

Next, open the PANEL folder of the aircraft you want to upgrade to V2.5 or V3. Open up its PANEL folder first (we will do the same with the EFIS folder later in this work round).
(FIRST TIME USERS NOTE: Inside the folder is a file that ends with the extension: .cfg called 'panel.cfg' (for those who do not know, this is called a panel configuration file).

Double-click on the panel.cfg file and if you have not already opened one of these files before it will ask you which program you want to open it with. Tick on the box 'ALWAYS OPEN USING THIS PROGRAM' below the list of options and click on the NOTEPAD option in the list as your chosen program to open the panel.cfg file. Press the SEARCH or FIND macro (Hold down the Ctrl key and press F) and get it to look for the following words by pasting this into the SEARCH or FIND option:

ariane.737.fmc !Display

Press find to locate the first line and change the entry in the panel.cfg from

ariane.737.fmc !Display

to

ariane.737.fmc.v2!Display

Now do the same with the next one and so on until it cannot find any more entries.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK! ERRORS AT THIS STAGE ARE CRIED ABOUT LATER!
Now press the SAVE button at the top left of the file. Now close it. Now go to the aircrafts EFIS PANEL folder and open it. Open the panel.cfg file. Now change all the EFIS variables by changing all of the entries marked

ariane.737.efis!Display

to

ariane.737.efis.v2!Display

Now you can copy this panel.cfg file to ALL of the Ngs PANEL folders that you want to update. If you have EFIS PANEL folders in the older V2 aircraft you can also copy the newly updated EFIS panel.cfg files you just edited to these aircraft folders.

ONLY INSTALL V2.5 to V2.
DO NOT INSTALL V2.5 to older V1 aircraft. It is a lot  easier to buy the new V3 versions and to have a complete fleet of compatible V3 versions flying.

You will have to repeat the process with all other V2 Ngs if you want them to use the new displays and logics and the new FMC.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR WORK! ERRORS AT THIS STAGE ARE CRIED ABOUT LATER!
Do this on all the other Ng V2 variants after you install the new 800 v2.5 and/or the new version 900 ER.

Expansions
Now open ALL of your expansion aircraft folders and make sure that you have copied the following files to them all:

1
Copy the new, edited efis panel.cfg to each of your V2 expansion aircraft PANELs panel.cfg and overwrite it.

2
Copy the new, edited panel.cfg to each of your expansion aircraft PANEL panel.cfg and overwrite it.

One of our testers has flown the planes for some time now and does not report any problems. If you do it all correctly and follow these instructions to the letter as we have explained, it will work for you too. You still have to change the panel cfg. for every V2 you want to fly with the new files.

Warning
We cannot emphasize how important this is so we are going to say it again.
If you copy the panel from the new V2.5 or new V3 to any other Ng`s you will only have problems and may not be able to reactivate them. Editing the panel.cfg is the ONLY solution or you will have to BUY the new versions if you do not want to go through this procedure.

!!! EACH INSTALLATION MAY BE DIFFERENT. WE CANNOT PRODUCE A PATCH !!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not have V2 versions and are using older V1, please support yourself and help everyone by buying a V3 version.

We are sorry but we cannot keep developing free upgrades for ever. We have provided you with this path and solution without any charge. Please remember that development takes time and costs money and we need to so please support our version upgrades as and when we release them to keep up to date with us.

WARNING: ONLY COPY EDITED PANEL.CFG TO the panel folders as explained above and NOT TO ANY OTHER VERSIONS OR V1 VERSION Ngs. THE NEW VERSION FILES WILL NOT WORK WITH THE OLDER V1 VERSIONS AND YOU WILL POSSIBLY CRASH YOUR ENTIRE NG INSTALLATIONS IF YOU TRY. THE ACTIVATION SCREEN MAY ALSO APPEAR ON THE ENTIRE FLEET INCLUDING THE NEW 800 NG IF YOU IGNORE THIS WARNING. THE ONLY OPTION FOR YOU WILL BE TO RE-INSTALL THE AIRCRAFT, RE-ACTIVATE THEM USING YOUR ACTIVATION KEYMAILS AND THEN START THIS PROCESS AGAIN.

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE CANNOT PROVIDE 'NEW KEYS' FOR YOU TO DO THIS.

FS9. Aircraft and Airline Pack General.

Q
I installed my 737-NG the other day, doing everything exactly like the istruction told me to do yet once I tried to fly it I was only given two planes (KLM, and Boeing scheme) and out of those two the Boeing one is the only one thats works, so I'm missing the other 4.

A
In the back of the main aircraft (called the BASE AIRCRAFT) installation guide, is an installation guide for the aircraft. This is also covered elsewhere on this support page.

Q
When I open my FMC I'm given 3 options FMC, ACARS, and another one and the only one that works is the first one.

A
It is an assumption the others work that is not helping you and not a fault with the product. Some functions are INOP. The FSX version contains a lot more functionality (such as HOLD etc).

Q
When I try to put any waypoints in the FMC it doesn't show up nor shows a the flight route or airport location, and some of the buttons on the FMC aren't working such as the HOLD for example.

A
Another assummption but one largely made from assuming operation when you should be reading the manual very carefully. In other words, try not to wade in up to your necka nd enter data in. Read the manual. Get briefed and miss nothing. That way you will be able to fly how you should.

Q
I also tried to install my expansion pack yet the website given on the CD to use will not go through even after the countless amount of times I did it its not recognized as a website. PLEASE HELP I would greatly appreciate it very much I want to really fly.

A
Please refer to this website and not any other. We will do all we can to support you.

Some of the lights are not working on the BBJ.

Older V2 users please note:

Install the 700, 600 and 900 in this correct order:-

1. 900 + updates + exp pack
2. 600 + update + exp pack
3. 700
4. 2Di updates for 600-900
5. BBJ is last one

Can I use a second screen?

Q
I use multiple monitors when flying and wanted to know if its possible to make the Dynamic eye view work on the second screen.
I like to have the Cockpit up on one screen and would love to either have a wing view or when flying the BBJ a cabin view. Is this possible and is if it is did I overlook it in one of the manuals.

A
Try opening a window and dragging it over. Then save that as a situation and it will remember your settings. You may have to restart the aircraft again.
Unless you are using a program like WIDEVIEW and a network. Sorry but you will have to wait until we have developed the new network version. If we do find the time and if there is support for it.

Problem with Winglet version of 700?

Q
Anyone find a problem with the Winglet version of the 737-700?.

A
With how or when people install it, yes. There is also a support file associated with that release. Go to your SUPPORT page and select the BBJ and it will install a new gauge and correct the problem. Make sure you run the keyupdate.exe file after any install to make sure it updates your keys.

Can I use my purchase on another PC?

Q
I’m hoping that sometime in the future you may run an 'upgrade offer' again. I own two copies of the Boeing 737-900 VCe and want to purchase a second copy of the Base packs for the 700, BBJ and probably the 800. Will I also have to by another 'tug' package for my 900 seeeing as it doesn’t come included with the aircraft.

A
The new version of the 900 has both winglets and is an ER version. We are never going to make 'upgrades' again. The system was widely abused and hundreds of people shared files with each other and lied to get multiple activations. Such people killed the idea not us. Sorry.

Is your work cpmpatible with Flight 1?

Q
You mention Flight 1 software. I do own a copy of ATR 72-500. In which I’m not sure if I installed it after FsPassanger. I know I installed it after I installed all your aircraft. If I remove thir program from FS. Do I need to run any of your programs again to make sure the correct files are in place?

A
In the main, our work is OK with Flight 1 with no problems. You will find that with certain installs that base FS files go missing so you need to re-install FS2004 or get the missing files somehow. We found that the file GPS_EXPORT.DLL is removed (due to it being edited by Flight 1 or included in the install and therefore removed on uninstall). Its one of those things you have to do - no slant on Flight 1 - they are a good company.

I bought FS Tweak and your aircraft is flying wrong.

WARNING - WE DO NOT SUPPORT FS TWEAK AND CANNOT SUPPORT ANYONE THAT USES IT!
Put as simply as possible, we do not support products that forego our right to adjust or to edit our copyright work and do so without contact with us or permission (FS Tweak have never contacted us to ask our advice or our comment regarding their program which is a toy created to play with work that we have spent many years developing).
After adjustment, the data we have placed in our work will be irrepairably damaged and permanently changed and will most certainly affect other aspects of the work including the extremely sophsiticated logic and FDx data processing that works within the FMS and the FMC structures. Any changes that a user has made without any knowledge of our systems will cause them to no longer function the way they should. Since we will not have been part of the editing process, it will be impossible for us to know what the problem is or how it has been caused.
We therefore cannot support any problems caused howsoever by this product. We have to officially state that FS Tweak on our aircraft or any relevant or related files will therefore automatically invalidate your warranty with us and invalidate our license.
We cannot support you if you buy this product and use it on our products. Sorry.

Does your software work with FS Passengers?

We have had a few comments about this software. There was one very helpful answer supplied to us by a user in Germany. He did not leave his name.

"...I did find this to work. What I did was I loaded the Boeing 737-700 SWA. I then proceed to program the FMC all the way threw. Once I did that I then went up to Fspassenger and proceed to load the flight. It actually loaded the flight and the passengers boarded just fine. The only thing that I noticed that was funny was that there short cut keys did respond. For instance they have it where you can play music making the passengers happy. You usually do this by selecting CTL + SHIFT + T for music. Well in order for me to get it to work I had to hit the ALT button to select if from the menu and that seem to work..."

It would seem that FS Passengers works only if you use it AFTER you have progrmmed the FMC?

Can I change the standard view factor for multiple monitors?

The standard zoom factor when using the saved views (Ctrl+S+1, Ctrl+S+2, etc.) in the Dynamic view is 1,0. If you use two or more monitors in span mode. the screen ratio is not 4:3, it is 8:3. The zoom factor of 0,5 instead of 1,0 would be perfect. To adjust this you need to go into the file marked: Ariane.pushback and locate all of the zoom factors and change them to 0.5. We advise that anyone needing more advice on this aspect consult our forum by clicking on the forum link on this site.

When I click on the cockpit door handle the door will not open.

A
You need to unlock it first. Clcik on the handle to that. Move into the cockpit and make sure power is switched on first. Battery power is enough to lock/unlock the door.

During activation I receive a message saying "WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS!"

If the activation is saying your mail is wrong then check that the mail that you used is the same mail that you ordered it with and is the same mail (ISP) that you are logged on with. The activation system will look at all those things. If the problem persists use OFFLINE activation and send us the file it saves by pressing SEND E-MAIL. This then gives us a chance to check your details and marry them up with the order so we can send you an activation code unique to your computer.

To activate OFFLINE:

1 Load FS2004.
2 Load the aircraft and press SHIFT 2 to call up the FMC.
3 Please press FMC OFFLINE ACTIVATION area on the FMC
4 Fill in details.
5 Press SEND E-MAIL
6 Your browser/e-mail service will open and fill in an e-mail for you
7 Press SEND

Once we receive this data and have checked it we will send the activation you need that will then be tied only to your computer alone.

I tried to activate using OFFLINE ACTIVATION but it still does not work.

You must paste ALL of the text from the e-mail into the the ACTIVATE area after pressing OFFLINE activation on the FMC.

I have problems with ACTIVATION after I bought a new PC.

If you tried to install it on one PC and then changed your PC or moved to another PC or reformatted your current PC then the first installation may have been cancelled and rendered void due to the software detecting a PC move or reformat. If this happens you have to contact us and ask for a new order. We will then track your PC and make sure your location matches your previos order. If not then it may invalidate the activation.

Can I turn off cockpit shaking?

In the Ariane INI file set the reference to the shaking is under the INI heading [SHACKING] - the flag can be edited by using notepad to open the file and then to change the flag from a [1] to a [0]. Save the change and restrat FS.
Alternatively, to get round the discomfort of the shaking, use the first view, activating the main CDU's by pressing SHIFT 5, SHIFT 6 and SHIFT 7.
Then move back into the cockpit after take off.

Can I 'self check' to see if my files are OK?

Check as follows:
1. Check, that after the succesfull installing of the product in the fs2004 install folder that the folder called ARIANE is there.
2. Check, that in the Ariane folder there is a file called ariane.737ng.900.ini
3. Check, that in the ariane.737ng.900.ini file (OPEN IT WITH NOTEPAD - DO NOT USE WORD OR ANY OTHER PROGRAM - USE ONLY NOTEPAD) there is a section entitled: [FMCCommon]
4. Check that in this section [FMCCommon] there is a record: KeyFile=ariane.737ng.key.900.ini
5. Check, that in the Ariane folder there is a file called ariane.737ng.key.900.ini
6. Check, that in the ariane.737ng.key.900.ini file there are sections called [ArianeKey.0] and [ArianeKey.1]
7. Send us the content of the ariane.737ng.key.900.ini by copying and pasting it to your e-mail.
8. If you still have problems, please insert into the ariane.737ng.900.ini file in section
[FMCCommon] the record Debug=1 (case sensitive!)

Sample: [FMCCommon] Debug=1

9. Save the changes to the ini file and reload the aircraft and begin the OFFLINE activation process.
10. After the message about the Missing key has appeared - end work with aircraft (close FS2004) and look in the ARIANE folder which can be found in FS2004\ARIANE.
11. The process will automatically create a file called ariane.log - its is a small text file.
12. Copy the contents of this file to an e-mail and send them to us.

Cockpit refresh rates are poor/slow.

VC refresh rate speed of displays is a known limitation of the FS2004 graphic engine, and for FS2004 there is no way to improve it. If we increase refresh rate in that department FPS (frame per second) will degrade due to having to take away detail in 3d areas. That is why we supply the pop up screens and the 2Di engine.

I get a CRC error with the downloaded zip file.

I have downloaded and unzipped all the 4 zip files for the above. However I have not been able to install the 001.exe file because the following message appears each time I try: CRC error - cannot install etc.

This is a known problem caused by the firewall you are using (possibly Norton) - a CRC error is given when you try to unzip it. Turn off your firewall and then download the file set/s exe/s again.

Aboute 90% of the pedestal knobs do not work.

It is not 90% but we understand your comment. This is very new technology and we cannot move outside of the MS FS SDK guidance on determining limits of file sizes and detail. The few things inoperative here are as follows while we look for ways to add more. The INOP areas only affect 1. ACARS (in development) 2. Mic select panel (stet) 3. Cargo bays fire warning panel (stet) 4. Printer (stet)

Is this a/c supposed to be able to autoland?

Q
It didn't seem to flare and reduce N1 over threshhold. I landed OK but with active N1 so I had to disconnect the A/T, pull back N1 and go into reverse manually?

A
For autoland (a SIMILAR approach described in the Boeing manual) after capturing the glideslope - the pilot in command must the correct channel on the MCP (autopilot - click 2nd button marked: CMD).

Fs9 has crashed. Everything locked up.

Q
I could still see the cockpit but the rain and everything else froze. I’m running Active Camera with FS9 - would that be the problem or should I close all the modules?

A
It might be that you have detailing set too high and that FS9 has reached its limits in the memory sector assigned to the graphic engine. We are looking into that possibility and we are trying to look at ways to address this area. See if you have the latest drivers installed and the latest service updates installed from us. It is possible that a third party software program might cause a conflict but we do not think it is Active Camera - try removing any third party DLLs that you have added to the product since you installed it. Also send us a list of all programs you have running with or in FS9 - are you running any memory programs in the background? Virus checkers running? Press Ctrl Alt Del and see which programs are running. It may be that one of them is interfereing with FS9. When it crahes MS gives you a box on the screen with a small line that says "see report" - next time it happens, if it does after trying these remedies, please check the line - does it say the app that crashed was FS9 or FED.DLL? Please use the forum for this issue.

The sound seems too loud.

The sound panel sets the volume. Not the sound itself. The sound is set to the volume it was recorded. It is loud in a real cockpit (and even louder outside).

The IRUs don't align without probe heat on?

Please read the manual. The IRS do not align unless your aircraft is stationary; your throttle needs to be set to [0] and your parking brake turned on.

Where are the anti-collision lights?

Please read the manual. They are in the light section. If you hover over each light switch, the mouse tells you what that light and every switch that is animated and has this feature does the same. Note also that some tooltips contain the settings lik the trim. Make sure that the "hardware rendered lights" option is set to 8. You can adjust it under the FS Options\Settings\Display\Hardware menu.

Does the TCAS work?

Please read the manual. It tells you how to turn the TCAS on and how to set it - in the Boeing 737 it is not automatic. You need to turn it on using the control based on the fwd electronic panel.

The zip program asks for a password.

Q
I succesfully downloaded the software but when tried to unzip it, the program asks for a password. I tried the chart ID and the transaction ID but non of them is working.

A
Windows (XP and later versions of ME) feature an UNZIP program that is incompatible with WINZIP versions 8.0+. Please download the free trail version of WINZIP from www.winzip.com. When you unzip the program also disable any firewall or virus software you are running. Our files are certified virus free by our secure ISP processing and pose no threat to our system. This should solve the problem.

I don't see a cockpit.

You have not registered the aircraft 3d elements correctly. Please turn off FS2004. Go to the ARIANE folder and locate a file called LibInst2004.exe and run it. Then load FS2004 and check again. If not, check the location of the aircraft is correct and then check to make sure that the location of the ARIANE folder contains at least 14 files. We do not include an old-style 2d panels with the product. It is solely a 3d product. However we do explain how to use a 2d-like sub set we have created caled 2Di which produces the same effect as a 2d cockpit but with faster, vector displays.

The FMC is showing an offset display.

Reload the latest video drivers. Download the GDiplus.dll file from the Mircosoft site or our support section. Then run FS2004 again.

The FMC has no display

Q
After following the instructions in "QUICK START" after calling up the FMC by pressing [SHIFT] [2], the FMC has no display (as if powered-off).

A
You may be starting a 'my situatio'n with a "cold and dark setup." Turn on Grnd Pwr and then turn on the battery or APU. Refer to the Quick Start Manual again.

I cannnot open the passenger and cargo doors.

Q
I cannnot open the passenger and cargo doors except the main passenger door. Aren't there some shortcut keys?

A
There are no shortcut keys for doors any longer. They are not needed. You can use the door handles to open the front doors in the galley. On the flight deck on the FWD overhead panel above you there are a number of warning lights - if you click on these buttons and then go outside you can see the doors open. Also, if you use the [ and ] keys you ca open up another window so you can open them from inside and see them open outside at the same time. This is all copvered in detail in the manual.

My aircraft does not work any more.

Q
I lost some Dates in my Windows XP System and had to Install it again and now it doesn’t work, please help me to activate it again.

A
Losing dates on WIn XP does not invalidate the software. If the secure software is loaded to any other machine (the security system will know that it is a different machine), your software CANNOT be activated and the order and account will be disabled. You must use the same machine you used to order it with.

My FMC is showing writing that is off to one side.

This could be a result of Win 2000 - please download the latest GDi.DLL PLUS update from the Microsoft web site (oir see our SUPPORT section) - also update your graphics drivers to the latest version. Also check refresh rates: Right Mouse click your desk top/Display Resolution/Settings and click on MONITOR tab and select Screen Refresh Rate as 60Hz. Click APPLY and press OK. If the problem has not been resolved, please supply us with the details of the graphics card you are using and the version of Windows and all relevant details and software etc;

Machine
Memory RAM
Graphics Card Make and Memory
Win Version
Other Software loaded and in use during FS2004

Cockpit is blurred or not sharp.

Go to SETTINGS/DISPLAY in the FS2004 menu and set:

AIRCRAFT
Virtual Cockpit Gauge Quality to HIGH

HARDWARE/Device Settings
Mip Mapping Quality to MAX
Hardware Rendered Lights to MAX
Check Render to Texture
Check Transform and Lighting
Check Anti-ALiasing
and set filtering to TRILINEAR

It says I can only activate once

Q
Does this mean if I havea hard disk crash that I cannot acticate it ever again?

A
If your hard disk crashes you need to contact us again for us to re-enable activation but this will only be for special cases. We will monitor multiple activation requests or attempts and treat them accordingly. After you activate it you can still use the software only on one PC - the files are not able to be copied to another PC because they will be rendered unuseable. We do not give out links or new pass keys. The activation system must run from the PC that ordered it.

Turning knobs: left mouse button turns to right instead of left (right button turns left).

There are some knobs set up with a reverse logic. Know your cockpit. Please read the reference and information sections of the manual.

A problem with entering the GW

Q
A problem with entering the GW (174.7 for the 900). Sometimes it works good, mostly I get the message: "invalid data entry" (maybe because of not having full tanks?)

A
If you sit at the gate or on the ramp for a while with your engines running, you are using fuel up and your fuel weight is going to change and affect your GW/ZFW. Press pause or try entering the complete data without the decimal. ie: 179.23 would be entered as 17923.

Can I set my own default display views?

Q
Is it possible to set the default view (space bar) so that the displays (PFD, ND) are visible (like the example in the manuals where you recommend a setting to emulate 2D view)?

A
The view is set once you open the pop up displays to the sizes and positions for every session - SAVE the SITUATION an the views adn displays will be set for you to IRS ALIGN and go.

Where is the TOGA switch?

Q
I'm not able to find the TOGA switch. According to the Manual the switch shoud be located somwhere near the throttle levers. I can see a kind of pushbutton at the lower right end of the throttle quadrant, but this switch has no funcion (i'm not able to push it, no "grab" symbol).

A
To activate TOGA set the AT to the tabled takeoff range SPD on the MCP. Press and hold down Ctrl + SHIFT and then press G. The aircraft will proceed to set the N1 to the TOGA N1 range / AT table N1 range for T/O. Note that some TOGA ranges will require long runways and accurate trim settings (usually in the range of 3.2 to 4.3 % trim rec.).

Can I access my old orders to download them again?

Q
What happens to the old orders from the old site; can they be opened here so I can download my old product if I lost my files?

A
The old server is in a different geographic location. The old files have been removed from the old server and placed on DVD storage backup. For customers wishing to have access to their old files who have been unfortunate to lose them, there may be a new structure involving a fee to find the old files, update/and or package them, provide a way to download them and to provide such access or to provide a shipping service. This will cost money to make and is under development so if we have to charge please understand that it is to cover costs. If any customer has an urgent need please click on the about us link below and send an email with the relevant order ID and product ordered.

How long does it take to ship a product?

Q
When can I get a box product if I ordered it today?

A
This depends on the location and the requirement of the order. If customers are willing to pay the costly price of UPS or FedEx or ParcelForce (around 30-40 e or $50-60+ USD) then we can ship with one of these suppliers the next day. Most common requests pay a nominal fee for shipping to take care of the cost of the CD and stock admin costs as well as the initial shipping fee via the post office air mail, ''signed-for service which acts much like a courier. Parcels to the USA take 4-5 days while Europe is mainly 2-3 days. Australia can take up to 4-6 days and regions further up to one week depending on flights and weather conditions. If an order goes out of stock on the day, we have a good back up service to turn round new print orders in 3 days except for the printed items and posters which may take longer. The most a product may be delayed is up to one week which is why we like to allow up to the industry standard of 14 days for delivery.
