All Bar One

Best for: A big night out with friends, cocktails and good food

With a huge tables for groups out and a handy app that makes waitress service super-simple, All Bar One remains the perfect go-to whether you fancy a long lunch or cocktails on a weekend night with lots of friends. A super-friendly bar team and uplifting soundtracks make this the perfect spot for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding celebrations and more. The cocktail menu is particularly good featuring fun drinks (don’t miss their iconic Espresso Martini – Ketel One vodka, Tia Maria, sugar syrup and coffee garnished with coffee beans) while their vegan, veggie and grazing boards have something for everyone (their kids’ menus are spot on too if you pop in on the afternoon with little ones).

Bar Douro City

Best for: Great food and wine on the outdoor terrace

The heated outdoor seating at Bar Douro City is like stepping off the plane – covered in traditional azulejos tiles, hand painted at Cerâmica de Bicesse and inspired by 15th century motifs from the Museu Nacional do Azulejo, you could be kicking back in Lisbon enjoying Portuguese petiscos and wines sourced with care and love. Book a spot for a long lunch or head over for after-work drinks and enjoy wines by the glass and a menu that moves from sardines to Onglet steak with a slow-cooked egg, matchstick potatoes on a bed of esparregado (creamed spinach).

Best for: Catching up with friends after work

While it might be known for its coffee, sandwiches and baked goods during the day, come evening BloomsYard transforms into a sun-filled spot overlooking Broadgate Circle. With a menu that’s full to the brim of natural wines, prosecco and craft bottles of beer and pale ale (complemented with plates of “picky things” – cheese, charcuterie, olive and nuts), this is a gem of a destination.

Best for: Aperitivi on the terrace

135 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3YD

Conjuring up the Amalfi Coast in the heart of London, La Terrazza di Eataly is serving up seasonal and classic cocktails, wine, beer or Aperol Spritz from the Aperol Spritzeria plus cocktails alla grande which can be enjoyed between four to six people. With food from the Eataly markets also on hand (such as pan pizza, fresh pasta and fresh mozzarella and Italian cheeses made on site in the cheese laboratory), you cannot find a more summery spot. Everyman Broadgate

Best for: Cocktails at the bar (plus a film)

You might pop into Everyman Broadgate to see the latest films but their cosy and stylish cocktail bar will give you other ideas. Serving Sharing Sipsmith G&Ts or Duppy Rum and Ginger for two, Old Fashioneds, Mojitos and Aperol Spritz alongside new creations such as Pretty in Pinks (King of Soho berry gin, strawberry, coconut and lime), it’s exactly where you need to head when you fancy a cocktail or two. Plus their burgers, pizza and sharing plates means you can also drink responsibly. .

Great sounds, sheds of legroom and they bring you food and drinks to your seat (before the main film starts) So, you go to the bar, check your phone ticks, grab a cocktail, order your hot chocolate, beef dog and ice cream sundaes that will blow your socks off, and they bring it all to your seat which has in built tables.” Google Reviews



Best for: Kid-friendly Sunday lunches and entertainment

Gaucho is the sweet spot where a kid-friendly menu and service meets a grown-up Sunday lunch for adults too (and they have a lovely enclosed alfresco dining area). Set in the huge pedestrianised space of Exchange Square so they can run off steam (with an incredible free art trail to explore – see coloured cubes stacked up high and a hidden family with dog and Everyman Broadgate on hand for family films), Gaucho’s kids’ menu features mini mac and cheese, the Gaucho burger, fish and chips, steak mini and chicken milanesa. Plus they get to colour in their own gaucho on the menu.

Grind Liverpool Street

Best for: Fun bottomless brunches and handy outdoor seating

A buzzing and vibrant spot that moves from morning espressos to late-night drinks on its outdoor terrace, Grind Liverpool Street is a must-know for your little black book of handy bars. Serving up neon lighting and instagrammable plates of chicken meatballs, soy, chilli, citrus mayo, burgers and protein bowls, it also has a huge selection of delicious cocktails (our favourite is the Pink Negroni with Beefeater gin, Campari, Lillet Blanc, peach and lemon) while they also have excellent wines and beers (try the house Grind Session IPA). With a friendly service and the feel of a neighbourhood bar, this is one not to miss.

Jose Pizarro

Best for: Tapas and drinks on sunny days and warm evenings

Sometimes all you want is a tapas feast of Spanish delights served with a cold Estrella or Gin Mare. It’s then that Jose Pizarro comes into its own. Sit by the bar or at an outside table at Broadgate Circle and the staff will advise you on the best bits of menu (it’s hard to choose from Wild white prawns a la plancha, Padron peppers, Slow cooked chorizo in red wine and a cheese selection so it’s best to order them all).

Mrs Fogg’s

Best for: Experiential nights out

Step out of London and onto a Victorian steamship as Mrs Fogg’s team of knowledgeable cocktail creators take you on a brilliant night (or day) out. With excellent live music and a covered outdoor area, they host everything from gin adventures every Saturday and Sunday (where you learn the history of gin from the grumpy Engine Master) to Mrs Fogg’s Brunch (a welcome glass of Bombay Bramble pink gin and tonic, followed by one and a half hours of free-flowing pink Prosecco). Definitely book ahead.

Soda Room

Best for: Late night celebrations

Now that late nights are back on the menu, the speakeasy vibe of the Soda Room is a much-missed weekend experience. Serving up loud and uplifting tunes with free-flowing cocktails, wines and beer plus plates of food (truffle and mushroom arancini anyone?)

Tank and Paddle

Best for: Pizza, beer and sports on the screen

For a summer filled with sport, Tank and Paddle has everything covered with big screens and helpful teams serving pizzas on their distinctive paddles and a drinks list that features craft beers galore, a summer menu of 11 guest gins, Brewdog IPA, easy-drinking reds, whites and roses and Heineken 0.0.

The Botanist

Best for: Big nights out with a group after work – and outdoor seats

The Botanist is famed for its lively, welcoming atmosphere post-work as team mates grab the distanced tables outside in Broadgate Circle and order drinks and food in the sunshine (for greyer days, they have heated outdoor covers). Serving up bottomless brunches, a classic British menu of steak, big breakfasts and more, they’re also brilliant for cocktails, wine and beers. They also offer group dining set menus filled with excellent mains although the desserts and cheeseboards give them a run for their money.

The White Horse

Best for: Booking celebrations in an elegant spot

With their sunny outdoor terrace (you can book ahead), big screen for sports and other live events plus an incredible menu of steak and ale pie, beef burgers, fish and chips and sausage and mash, The White Horse is an elegant spot that brings together all the best bits of the Great British pub. It’s also got breakout areas you can hire for birthday and other celebrations – definitely not one to miss.

The Tapster

Best for: Those who want to eat and drink wine in style

The Tapster take food, wine and welcoming you into their space very seriously. Known for their carefully curated wines from exclusive lists (they also offer fine wines and cellar storage), this summer they’re also offering four-pint pitchers of Pimms, Sangria or Camden Bee (inspired) and craft beers including Camden and Five Points alongside seasonal, classic British cooking (menus feature Beyond Meat vegan burger, seeded bun, chipotle mayonnaise and roasted vegetable and feta salad with focaccia croutons with pomegranate molasses dressing).
