One of the most exquisite things which will delight enthusiasts of spirits during Bonham’s Fine and Rare Wine auction is the Pierre Frapin Cuvee 1888 Grand Cru Cognac. The amazing booze comes bottled in a superb crystal glass decanter, encircled by a 24 carat gold spiral.
The drink is in fact a tribute to the founder of the brand, the renowned Pierre Frapin. The character had selected the cuvée back in 1888, ultimately winning the Gold Medal at the 1889 “Exhibition Universelle” in Paris. The stunning decanter was manufactured by the famous Cristalleries Royales de Champagne.
It comes encased in a superbly polished wood cabinet alongside a gold-plated pocket watch filled with a tiny little bit of Pierre Frapin perfume. The scent itself has been added to complement the tasting notes and nose of the magnificent drink.
Bonham’s Fine & Rare wine sale, due to be taking place in London, will also house some other exquisite drinks originating from all sorts of European cellars. For example, officials hint 12 vintages of Lebanese Chateau Musar from 1979 to 1994 and Spanish wines from 1925 to 1982.
