The brand new Wiesmann GT MF4-CS was recently unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Don’t be hasty, they say this is quite a banger. Let’s find out!
The GT MF4-CS measures 2 full meters in width, 1.2 meters in height, 4.22 meters in length and was built upon an aluminium monocoque frame chassis. The car tips the scales at just 1,350 kg due to this. In addition, it’s a two-seater with rear wheel drive and mid-engine architecture. The body was crafted from fiber glass except the rear wing, which is manufactured from one hundred percent carbon fiber.
Performance wise, the bonnet of the latest Wiesmann hides a 4.0-liter V8 engine which generates 420 HP (309 kW) at 8,300 RPM and 400 Nm of torque at 3,900 RPM. It is further tied to a 7-speed double-clutch transmission controllable through paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
The official details released by Wiesmann relate the car’s sprint from naught to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 293 km/h. Combined, this stylish sportscar uses just 12.2 l / 100 km, in urban regime it uses 17.9 l / 100 km, while in highway cycle it only needs 9 l / 100 km. According to Wiesmann, the GT MF4-CS is fitted with aluminium double wishbone suspension with coil springs, anti-roll bar on both axles, trailing arm on the rear axle and a fully variable self-locking differential.
Apart from being quite a good looker and sort of speedy at the same time, the Wiesmann GT MF4-CS is rather safe as well. It boasts airbags, integrated side impact protection system, safety steering, engine immobilizer, DSC and ABS. The cabin hasn’t been blessed with any air conditioning and audio systems though, but they do come as optional extras. The price? – €193,193.28.
